Dr. Gobinder Chopra is a quadruple board-certified specialist in neurology, neurophysiology, brain injury medicine, and as an Independent Medical Examiner. He has been providing neurological care and treatment to patients in the Las Vegas Valley since July 1999.
He completed medical school at Dayanad Medical College in Punjab, India, followed by one year of Internal Medicine residency at Kern Medical Center, a UCLA medical school and UCI medical school-affiliated program, in Bakersfield, California. After three years of Neurology residency at the VA West Los Angeles Hospital, an affiliate of the UCLA residency program, in California. Dr. Chopra went to Stanford University Medical Center and completed one year of fellowship training in Clinical Neurophysiology and Inter-Operative Neuro Monitoring.
Dr. Chopra is a board-certified Independent Medical Examiner. He is the only neurologically trained PPD rating neurologist for brain and spine-related medical issues in Southern Nevada. Dr. Chopra is also a PPD rated physician who works with workman compensation cases. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, AAN, and the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, AANEM.
Born and raised in the state of Punjab, located in Northern India. Dr. Chopra came to California when he was 25 years old. During his internship, residency, and fellowship in Southern and Northern California, he researched Nevada and the growth of Las Vegas. Early on, he decided that he wanted to provide neurological services to the Southern Nevada communities, and in 1999, he began his professional journey in Las Vegas. Starting in 2000, while establishing his private neurology medical practice, he was instrumental in helping create inpatient neurology services in the majority of the southern Nevada hospitals. Focused on his family, he has a wife three children (one daughter, two sons, and a cat. You can find him meditating, taking walks, and spending time out in nature in his leisure time. Being an avid foodie, he is always found in the best dining spots across the city and loves hanging out with family, friends, and colleagues.
